Developing her unique style using traditional methods in pen and ink, Cheri enjoys the challenge of creating different textures with just one nib. Her work is always skillfully and elaborately detailed.

Cheri sees the natural world through the fantastic. Twisting the natural into fantasy, whilst retaining some realistic qualities, produces surreal creatures that seem as if they would come alive at any moment. The tension between the creatures provides a narrative which viewers are compelled to imagine.

Initially, Cheri begins with observation of her subjects, but then her memory and imagination create the actual artwork. Always starting with the eye and with no preparatory sketches, a method that Cheri feels allows the character to develop and take on a personality and mood of its own which in turn sets the atmosphere for the piece.
